About Me
My Story
I first knew I wanted to work with languages when I read Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind in English. I was determined to be good enough at Spanish to read it in Spanish. And I did.
I went to Royal Holloway where I did French and Spanish, gaining a First Class degree. I spent my year abroad in Perpignan and Córdoba (AndalusÃa).
I then returned to Norfolk (where I was born) to do an MA in Literary Translation and a year later I returned for my PhD which was funded by the Consortium for the Humanities and Arts South East (CHASE). For my PhD I researched the translation of trans identity and you can find out more about this here.
I am an aspiring literary translator and I'm passionate about working on trans texts. I also offer proofreading and editing services.
In my spare time I love reading (unsurprisingly!), climbing, baking, doing embroidery, running, exploring Norwich and going to all the amazing events it puts on as UNESCO city of World Literature.
